How Gilgal can help
Gilgal is a refuge for women and children who are escaping domestic violence. We are a single sex service open to women of all faiths, cultures, backgrounds and sexualities.
Along with providing secure, short-term accommodation, we support our residents to begin rebuilding their lives. We have Support Workers, a Counsellor, a Children’s Worker, and an extensive Activities Programme that helps our residents rediscover themselves.

The Gilgal community
We will provide:
- Accommodation for you and your children
- Access to counselling sessions
- Play therapy sessions for children
- Help with tasks such as applying for nurseries, schools, benefits, GPs and dentists
- Person-centred support that focuses on your particular needs, wishes and goals
- A programme of activities and trips and an engaged community within the refuge
- A fresh start and support in regaining your independence
We hope that together, we can help you start afresh and begin to rebuild your life.
